Welcome to econotune.com
Econotune has been formed by a group of highly experienced tuning technicians to
provide a service to obtain the best economy you’re your vehicles.
Whereas traditionally, engine tuning has concentrated
on the performance side, we are looking to obtain the best economy from your engine,
your driving style and journey type.
By modifying your cars controlling computer (ECU) and the parameters used in various
conditions by the engine programme (fuel and ignition basically) we can improve
not only the drivability of the vehicle, the delivery of the power and the power
itself but primarily, the economy.

Diesel Turbo
You may have already opted for a diesel vehicle for its good economy characteristics,
however we can significantly improve this by improving the torque to suit your driving
and journey types with emphasis on low down power, which allows you to maintain
a higher gear for a more sustained period of time and to “change up” earlier during
acceleration.
Not only do you benefit from the economy, your cars power is increased too. We are
not looking to gain excessive power from the engine so the power output is kept
to a sensible level. If you are looking to increase the power of the vehicle significantly,
this can be done by one of our sister companies, please ask for details.
Petrol and Petrol Turbo
Traditionally the petrol and petrol turbo variants have been less economical than
their diesel brethren. Whilst this is still the case, we can make substantial improvements
using very similar methods to allow you obtain better economy. Whilst the improvements
do of course improve acceleration times, in gear times etc, the emphasis is on economy
and not power in the mapping we do for these.
What Can you Expect
Well we cannot predict the exact outcome of each vehicle as there are to many influences
out of our control. However, we can assume at least some minor mathematics as follows
If we take an average motorist these days doing 25,000 miles per annum in their Turbo Diesel. If we take it that a litre of diesel is costing around 89p and the car is kept for two years we can predict savings as follows.
